CYPHER supports the advancement of therapeutic practice through practitioner-focused publications, particularly in the field of youth work. This includes empirical research, perspectives, practitioner reports, case studies, book/media reviews, as well as brief reports and editorials. All resources are carefully developed or curated to ensure they remain accessible and easy to read.
Our research & resources are designed to support practitioners by:
- Helping to make sense of complex cases or situations
- Giving ideas for how to assess and plan the next steps in a case
- Offering research-backed explanations for what practitioners may be witnessing/experiencing
- Pointing out key risk or protective factors to consider
- Providing language or frameworks to articulate professional reasoning
- Encouraging reflection or looking at things from a fresh angle
- Boosting practitioner confidence in using certain tools, techniques or approaches
- Supporting professional discussions with colleagues, supervisors, or external stakeholders and thereby facilitating a collaborative approach

Collaboration
Our platform is open to submissions from researchers, practitioners, and experts where authors retain full copyright of their original work. To support editorial review and open access outreach, a modest publication fee of SGD $200 applies (or SGD $150 for currently enrolled tertiary students). As a registered charity, this helps us sustain the platform while promoting accessible, evidence-informed dialogue with the community. Our fee reflects:
- Light editorial work (e.g., language clarity, formatting, title refinement, etc.)
- Platform hosting and visibility
- Optional layout/graphics if required
- Charitable/public value of promoting accessible science
All submissions will nevertheless undergo an editorial review to ensure alignment with our mission and authors will be supplied our Terms & Conditions for review and acceptance prior to any publication. Can you help us?
Republishing
If you wish to republish an original article from CYPHER, you may only do so under the following conditions:
- Articles may only be republished after entering into an agreement with us (see below) which incurs a fee. Up to 250 words may be republished for free for the purpose of critique or analysis.
- Images (photographs and illustrations) may not be reused.
- Only certain articles have republishing permissions.
- Fees vary depending on the type of article, ranging from SGD $350-$1500.
Terms and Conditions
- Republication must not take place until you have agreed to these Terms and Conditions and received an agreement by email.
- Republication is limited to article text and does not include accompanying illustrations or photographs originally published by CYPHER.
- CYPHER will charge a flat fee for republication (no GST).
- Payment is to be received by CYPHER within 21 days of receipt of invoice.
- CYPHER is to be notified in advance of the date of publication via email.
- The article must be republished in full exactly as it appears on CYPHER’s website, with no alterations, condensing or editing apart from house style, unless by prior arrangement with our editorial team. Any edits will require editor approval and may take up to five working days.
- CYPHER must be credited at the end of the republished article in the following format.
- This article was originally published as ‘Title of article’ (the title needs to be hyperlinked to the original article on our website) on CYPHER (the word ‘CYPHER’ to be hyperlinked to CYPHER’s homepage if online, or in print to be followed by CYPHER’s homepage address.
- CYPHER’s articles cannot be sold separately but it is ok to put our articles on pages with advertising.
- If you are using a canonical link element on the page, you must ensure that the link references the article on our site as the preferred version.
Other Information
- Requests to republish more than one CYPHER article or to have an ongoing arrangement will be considered and negotiated on a case-by-case basis.
- Quotes: you can quote authors provided you include a link back to the article URL.
- CYPHER’s articles can be published in print under these same rules (i.e., our Terms and Conditions). We would appreciate it if you would send an image of the republished article to us so that we can share it with the author.
- In the event of such an agreement, CYPHER reserves the right to revoke the agreement without notice if the agreement is considered to be harmful to our interests and reputation.
CYPHER Articles For Education
CYPHER articles may be used in an educational setting so long as they follow the provisions of fair use doctrine. For example, linking to or printing articles for use in a lesson is permissible, whereas including an article in a course pack requires entering into an agreement with CYPHER and paying the associated fee. If there are any questions or confusions about educational usage, please contact us. We are really pleased to have CYPHER content used in educational settings and, in return, ask that you reach out and let us know how you used it in your teaching.
Translation
CYPHER is always looking to grow our international readership, and we encourage translations of our content. However, please note that we are able to provide translation rights only under the umbrella of an agreement with the above fees.
